The Job
The Seasonal Experience Associate is responsible for delivering dynamic, interactive experiences to guests at the FAO Schwarz Flagship Store. This role blends guest engagement, performance, and retail sales, guiding guests through personalized in-store journeys that ensure both satisfaction and memorable moments. Seasonal Experience Associates are expected to meet or exceed sales goals while maintaining high operational standards, including monitoring stock levels, ensuring technology and equipment are functioning properly, and upholding cleanliness and presentation within their assigned areas.
This is a part-time, seasonal role with an expected end date in early/mid-January. Seasonal Associates who meet or exceed key requirements may apply to stay on after the seasonal end date.

What You’ll Do
Guest
- Perform in-house experiences consistently in line with established guidelines while adding your own individual flair to make each experience feel unique.
- Embody the cast of characters unique to each experience through provided costumes, props, scripting, and character backstories, where applicable.
- Build authentic connections with guests to effectively guide them through the steps of service.
- Be able to adapt your style to engage both children and adults as they visit us in the store.
- Apply and adapt our selling vision to effectively handle more than one guest simultaneously without compromising the guest experience.
- Demonstrate great selling techniques to meet or exceed sales goals and KPIs.
- Be the expert in your zone and ensure all information provided is accurate.
- Able to perform in front of a large audience or one-on-one with the purpose of driving sales.
Team
- Make recommendations to evolve and innovate the experiences to excite our guests.
- Share expertise with colleagues to help elevate the experience for our guests.
Store
- Complete daily administrative tasks and checklists to ensure the experience meets our operational standards, flagging maintenance needs to store leadership.
- Be able to replenish areas of the store as needed to maintain standards.
- Be able to flex outside assigned experience as needed to support the wider store.
- Escalate any maintenance issues that may prevent delivering the experience as planned.
What You Have
- An engaging and theatrical personality that can captivate an audience.
- Experience in a sales-driving environment, meeting or exceeding goals and KPIs.
- Ability to remain positive and in character for extended periods of time without losing any of your magic.
- Experience in a performance, acting, music, or dance background a plus.
- Familiarity with a premium or experience-based retailer a plus.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds, and bending, twisting, and standing for long periods of time in all types of weather
